The attached final report of the CPoC pilot study has shown the routine collection of a measure of CPoC is possible within the private sector. Not only was it possible, but both participating hospitals and consumers felt the information that was collected was useful and could be used to improve services within these facilities.
The attached Annual Statistical Reports on Private Hospital-based Psychiatric Services from the PMHA's Centralised Data Management Service (CDMS) are based on data submitted by private hospitals with psychiatric beds that participate in the PMHA's CDMS. The Reports are produced by the PMHA's CDMS each year, as part of our ongoing commitment toward improving the quality, reliability, and use of information on private sector mental health services.
Attached below are the reports of the PMHA-CDMS Management Committee held in 2008-09. In 2010, the role of the Management Committee was incorporated into meetings of PMHA as part of core business.
The National Model for the Collection and Analysis of a Minimum Data Set with Outcome Measures for Private Psychiatric Services (hereafter National Model), is being implemented by participating private psychiatric hospitals for the purpose of obtaining information to support improvements in the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the services they provide. Private hospitals with psychaitric beds who wish to implement the National Model can do so by following the attached enrollment procedure.
